It seems that the police is deliberately attacking journalists. I found those pictures from the respected German newspaper “Spiegel”:

In the article http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/0,1518,529152,00.html the author states he was attacked by police forces on horses and shot at with tear gas.
Three international journalists, 2 from Germany and 1 Dutch were arrested today at Jomo Kenyatta Airport because they were in possession of photographs of “vital installations” and were charged with terrorism. See http://eyesonkenya.org/blog/?p=40 for more information.
